Who I Am
This website is operated by Ashkan Rezaee, an architect and technologist based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
For privacy-related questions or data deletion requests, please use the GDPR request form below (or use the contact information available on the About page).
What Data I Collect
I collect the following data:
- Email address — when you subscribe to my newsletter
- Subscription timestamp — the date and time when you subscribed
- Unique subscriber ID — a randomly generated identifier used for secure unsubscribe links
- Page view counts — anonymous, aggregated counts of views per blog post and craft item (no personal identifiers are stored)
- Analytics data — Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views, referrers, and device type. No cookies are used and no personally identifiable information is collected
I do not use cookies for tracking. The only cookies on this site are strictly functional (e.g. theme preference).
Purpose
I use your email address exclusively to send you my personal newsletter, which includes:
- Updates on new blog posts and articles
- Announcements about new projects and experiments
- Behind-the-scenes insights and thoughts
I do not use your email address for:
- Advertising or marketing third-party products or services
- Sharing or selling your data to third parties
- Any purpose other than sending the newsletter
Legal Basis (GDPR)
The legal basis for processing your personal data is consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR).
By subscribing to the newsletter, you provide explicit consent to receive email communications from me. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing using the link provided in every newsletter email, or by visiting the unsubscribe page.
Where Data Is Stored / Data Processors
Your data is processed by the following third-party services on my behalf:
- Vercel — hosts this website and stores subscriber data and content in its KV (Redis) database. Vercel is GDPR compliant and provides a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Vercel Analytics collects anonymous usage data without cookies.
- Resend — used to send newsletter emails and welcome confirmations. Resend processes your email address solely to deliver emails on my behalf and is GDPR compliant.
None of these processors use your data for their own purposes beyond providing their services to me.
How Long I Keep Data
I keep your email address and subscription data until you:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter (using the unsubscribe link or the unsubscribe page)
- Request deletion of your data by contacting me directly
Once you unsubscribe or request deletion, your data will be permanently removed from my systems within 30 days.

Client-Side Features
This site uses the following client-side features that interact with your device:
- Haptic feedback — on supported mobile devices, tapping navigation icons may produce a brief vibration using the browser's Vibration API. This is purely a user-experience feature; no data is collected or transmitted.
- Theme preference — your light/dark mode choice is stored in your browser's local storage so it persists between visits. This data never leaves your device.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. I encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
